Applyli ("we," "our," "us") helps you plan college applications by keeping your deadlines, essays, scholarships, and checklists in one place. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the rights you have.
"Personal information" means information that identifies you or could reasonably be linked to you. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to the practices described here. If you have questions, email contact.applyli@gmail.com.
Information you provide. When you create an account, we collect the email address you use and, if you sign in with Google, the Google account name, email address, and profile picture Google makes available to us. We also store what you add while using the app: your college list, deadlines, tasks and checklist progress, notes, essays, scholarship tracking, and any preferences you set. When you submit feedback, we store the feedback and any contact details you include.
Anonymous (guest) usage. If you use the app without creating an account, we create a temporary anonymous identifier on your device so the data you enter stays yours and is not mixed with other users' data. That data can be tied to an account if you sign up later; if it cannot, it may be deleted when no longer needed.
What we do not collect. Applyli is free and has no payments, so we do not collect payment card or billing information. We do not collect precise location data. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use advertising or third-party tracking.
We use personal information only to operate the service, including:
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process personal information on the following legal bases: performance of the contract you enter into when you create an account; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the service; and compliance with legal obligations. Where we rely on consent — for example, when you choose to share data through a share link — you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and similar local-storage technologies to keep you signed in and make the service work. These are essential to the service. We do not use cookies for advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking, and we do not allow third-party advertising cookies. Because we do not engage in cross-site tracking, we honor "Do Not Track" signals by not tracking you.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the service may not function correctly — for example, you may need to sign in again.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing.
Service providers. We rely on third parties that process personal information on our behalf to run the service. Today those include Supabase, which provides our database, authentication, and password-reset email delivery. These providers are required by contract to use the information only to provide services to us and to protect it with appropriate safeguards.
Google sign-in. If you sign in with Google, Google shares with us the account information you authorize, and Google's own privacy policy and terms apply to that authentication step.
Other situations. We may disclose information where required by law, in response to legal process, to protect our rights or the safety of users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — in which case we will require the recipient to honor this policy.
Share links. You can create share links for your college list. You choose what to include: college names, deadlines, and statuses; scholarship details including amounts; and — only if you enable them — your essays. Anyone with the unique link can view whatever you have enabled, so treat share links as sensitive, especially if they include essays.
Calendar subscriptions. You can generate a unique calendar link that exposes a read-only feed of your deadline names and dates. Any calendar app or person with that link can read the feed.
Because these links act like keys, do not post them publicly. You can delete or regenerate them at any time, and deleting them stops access. You are responsible for how you choose to share these links.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest where provided by our infrastructure, access controls, and Supabase Row-Level Security, which restricts access to your data to your own account.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but if a breach occurs that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law and, where reasonably possible, by email.
We keep your personal information for as long as your account is active or as long as needed to provide the service, and then we delete or de-identify it. Anonymous (guest) data may be deleted when it is no longer needed; creating an account lets you keep access to that data. Feedback is retained as long as needed for product improvement. You can ask us to delete your data at any time — see "Your rights" below.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to receive a copy of it in a portable format, to restrict or object to certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to a supervisory authority.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used and shared, to delete it, to correct inaccurate information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, and we do not use sensitive personal information (such as essay content) for purposes other than providing the service.
The service is intended for high-school students and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us at contact.applyli@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Your information is stored and processed on infrastructure provided by Supabase, which may be located in the United States or other countries. If you are in the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as European Commission adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses — to lawfully transfer your information outside your country of residence.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy with a new "Last updated" date and, where practical, notify you by email or an in-app notice before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
Questions, concerns, or privacy requests: contact.applyli@gmail.com. We aim to respond within a reasonable time, generally within 30 days. If we cannot resolve your concern and you are in the EEA, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
Your trust matters more than anything else.
